When it comes to SUVs that embody power, ruggedness, and versatility, Mahindra’s Scorpio N has quickly made its mark in the Indian market. Recently, we had the privilege of sitting down with YouTuber and automotive enthusiast Ravi Bhai, who shared his ownership experience of the Mahindra Scorpio N. From its initial booking process to the driving experience, and even comparing it with rivals, Ravi Bhai gave us an in-depth look at what makes this SUV a formidable choice.

The YouTube Journey Begins: Ravi Bhai’s Story

Before we dive into the review, a bit of background on our guest. Ravi Bhai began his YouTube journey in 2017. What started as a hobby turned into a passion, and soon after, a successful YouTube career. His first video wasn’t even about cars—it was a casual recording of a friend learning to drive. From there, Ravi Bhai’s channel evolved based on viewer requests, and today, he’s a prominent figure in the automotive world with a dedicated following.

“I had no idea I could even make money from this,” Ravi Bhai said, recalling his early days on YouTube. “It was just something I enjoyed doing, and it grew from there.”

Mahindra Scorpio N: Why This SUV?

With his love for automobiles, Ravi Bhai has had the chance to drive many vehicles. So, why did he choose the Mahindra Scorpio N, especially when there are plenty of options in the segment?

“I didn’t initially want a four-wheel drive (4×4) vehicle,” Ravi Bhai admitted. “But the Scorpio N stood out because it’s an all-rounder—family-friendly, capable, and rugged. I needed a vehicle that could handle rough terrains while still being comfortable for everyday use. This car ticks all those boxes.”

The Scorpio N is the latest iteration of Mahindra’s popular Scorpio series, featuring modern tech, a robust engine, and a solid build that appeals to both adventure enthusiasts and urban dwellers.

Booking and Delivery: The Scorpio N Saga

Booking the Scorpio N wasn’t easy, given the high demand and long waiting periods. Many people struggle to get their hands on this SUV due to the limited availability and production constraints.

“I made two bookings, just to be safe,” Ravi Bhai chuckled. “Many people do the same—some even have three or four bookings under different names. That’s the level of demand. But it paid off, and I got the vehicle on time.”

Ravi Bhai emphasized that booking multiple cars is a common practice now, with people hedging their bets to ensure they get one delivered as early as possible.

On-Road Performance: Power Meets Comfort

Ravi Bhai has already driven the Scorpio N for over 2,000 km, taking it on challenging routes like Ladakh. His review of the car’s performance was overwhelmingly positive.

“The Scorpio N is a beast,” he said. “I’ve driven it in Ladakh, and it handled everything flawlessly. Even though it’s a heavy car, weighing around 2,300 kg, it drives smoothly. The rear-wheel drive (RWD) system provides better traction and capability, even without 4×4.”

Comparing it to other SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, Ravi Bhai believes the Scorpio N is a worthy competitor, especially in terms of off-road capabilities.

“Fortuner is a level above in some aspects, but when it comes to sheer capability in this price range, Scorpio N holds its own,” he said.

Interior Comfort: A Leap Forward

Mahindra has worked hard to modernize the Scorpio’s interior, and Ravi Bhai appreciated the improvements. The new Scorpio N boasts a premium feel with a solid build quality, making it a significant upgrade over the older models.

“The color combination is great. I prefer dark interiors as they don’t get dirty easily. As someone who’s 6 feet tall, I can sit comfortably in both the front and back seats. The second and third rows are spacious enough for most people, although under-thigh support could be better.”

He also highlighted the modern tech features, including the touchscreen infotainment system, though he noted that the sound quality could be slightly better when compared to rivals like the Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700.

Driving Dynamics: Steering, Suspension, and Braking

One of the standout features of the Scorpio N, according to Ravi Bhai, is its driving dynamics.

“The steering is very comfortable. It’s light at slow speeds but gains weight as you go faster, giving you a good sense of control. It’s almost as light as the steering on the XUV700, which makes it easy to maneuver despite its size.”

The Scorpio N also impressed with its suspension setup, which strikes a balance between comfort and stability.

“Compared to the older Scorpio, there’s a world of difference. Body roll is much better controlled, and the suspension absorbs bumps effectively, making it a smooth ride even on rough roads.”

Braking was another area where the Scorpio N excelled.

“The braking is very strong and stable. You get a lot of confidence while driving at high speeds, and there’s no sudden jerk or discomfort when you hit the brakes,” he explained.

Tech and Features: Room for Improvement

While Ravi Bhai praised most of the features in the Scorpio N, he pointed out that some aspects could be improved. The rear camera quality, for example, didn’t meet his expectations.

“The camera quality is disappointing. It’s not clear enough, especially at night. It feels like an area where Mahindra could have done better. Other brands are offering better cameras even in their entry-level models.”

Despite this, the overall tech package of the Scorpio N is solid, with plenty of features like front and rear parking sensors, a good infotainment system, and various safety tech.

Diesel vs. Petrol: The Dilemma

Given the growing restrictions on diesel vehicles in places like Delhi NCR, we asked Ravi Bhai why he opted for the diesel variant.

“It’s true that diesel has its challenges in cities like Delhi NCR, where there’s a 10-year limit on diesel vehicles. But for me, the performance and fuel efficiency of diesel engines are hard to beat. Plus, there’s no 4×4 option in the petrol variant.”

Final Thoughts: A Worthy Contender

Ravi Bhai concluded his review by emphasizing that the Mahindra Scorpio N is a well-rounded SUV that caters to a wide range of buyers—from families looking for comfort to adventure enthusiasts seeking rugged capability.

“If you’re someone who travels frequently on highways or loves to go off-roading, the Scorpio N is a great choice. It offers a lot of what people loved about the old Scorpio but with modern upgrades and better performance.”

Ultimately, the Mahindra Scorpio N stands as a strong contender in the mid-size SUV market. It may not be perfect, but with its blend of power, comfort, and off-road prowess, it’s a vehicle that delivers on its promises.
